Telling Everyone We Know at the Columbus TacoFest

One of the mottos of the #SaveTheCrew from its inception has been: Tell everyone you know.

On Saturday, May 19, volunteers from the movement did just that.

They also told a few more that they don’t know. (Few, meaning, thousands.)

#SaveTheCrew volunteers woke up early to set up a tent and worked all day through the hot sun and summer storms at the First Annual Columbus Taco Fest held downtown at Genoa Park.The taco lines were long and the festival was even shut down momentarily due to storms passing through, but that didn’t sway the enthusiasm of the volunteers, who were eager to spread the word about the team and Project 2019.

Social Suite: Community Kit edition

Last night at Save The Crew business ally King Avenue 5, we released the much anticipated “Community Kit.” This kit is designed by Columbus supporters, for Columbus supporters everywhere. The reveal party was a limited engagement with a certain amount of people being allowed in (silly fire codes).

Crew SC players “share the love” after receiving valentines from fans

Valentine’s Day has come and gone and if you’re like me, it was just another Wednesday… but I digress.

During this holiday it’s not uncommon to see people show affection by gifting small tokens of appreciation to one another. Fans of the Black & Gold did just that with the help of Save The Crew business ally Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream.

Save The Crew secure community kit sponsor

When we announced a community kit during a meeting at Land-Grant on Jan. 13th, anticipation quickly grew as fans searched for an alternative way to support the club. Since the announcement, teasers began appearing on social media and anticipation from fans skyrocketed. When the jersey became available for preorder, supporters of our cause crashed the site placing orders for a kit that had yet to be revealed.

The concept of the ally program is simple: to destroy the narrative that there is not support for the team in Columbus from the business community.
