Giving Thanks Week 2

In the spirit of Thanksgiving later this month, we turned November into a month of Save The Crew thanks. Morgan Hughes got us started in a vlog by expressing his appreciation and thanks to all of the people that worked behind the scenes from the very beginning of the movement. Last week we hope you were able to set aside time to contact those who supported our efforts. Continue reading Giving Thanks Week 2

Save The Crew Updates

STC Thanks:

In the spirit of the Thanksgiving holiday later this month, we turned November into a month of Save The Crew thanks. Last week, we kicked off the month by giving thanks to Mayor Andrew Ginther and the Columbus City Council. We encourage everyone to send their own Thank-You’s to the city officials that had our back from day one. Call, email, or send letters letting them know how much you appreciate the committed support. MONDAY RECAP: COMMUNITY UPDATE

Save The Crew Updates

D.C. United vs Columbus Crew:

Federico ‘Pipa’ Higuaín and the Columbus Crew conquered D.C. United in their first home playoff game at Audi Field. Higuaín, scored a goal in regulation, one in additional time, and also slotted home his penalty kick. The penalty kick finish was a very familiar scenario for Columbus, as we progressed in the playoffs last year after a win at Atlanta. Zack Steffen once again stopped multiple penalty kicks. What can’t he do? Some fans traveled to D.C. for the game, but back home, local pubs were at capacity as Crew fans celebrated the away victory. Save The Crew allies including Endeavour Brewing, Land Grant, Platform and more hosted watch parties for the playoff game. Hope to see you all back at these establishments next Sunday! An Impactful Crew Road Trip

By Keith Naas

Dayton, Ohio – September 5 10:42 AM

“I just came up with a crazy idea…to go see the Crew in Montreal. Game’s at 3 on 10/6. That would be a blast. Can you free yourself up?”

This was the text my brother sent.  My brain immediately started thinking through that weekend knowing that it would be a hefty road trip and I had some other things on the calendar.  After serious thought I responded:

“Maybe”

Save(d) The Crew:

Oh the irony. Ohio Revised Code 9.67 was created by legislators due to the Browns relocation to Baltimore. More than 20 years later, a group of investors led by the Browns ownership stated that they are in the final negotiation to purchase the Columbus Crew. This news, which previously was a dream, became a reality on Friday. We gathered on Friday at business ally Endeavor Brewing to celebrate as the saga has nearly ended, almost a year to the day from that nightmare that occurred on October 16th, 2017. Everyone involved in the Save The Crew movement, from Columbus, to across Ohio, to across the globe played a part in this success story. The doubters stated that a few “hundred” (hah) supporters would not be able to change the direction. Continue reading Monday Recap 10/15/18

Italian Festival:

Members from the STC team set up a tent at this past weekend’s Columbus Italian Festival. The tent saw a lot of traffic as many people came to chat about the Crew. Some individuals reminisced about legends such as Brian McBride, while others chatted optimistically about the future of the team. The STC team gave out dozens of stickers, as many people wanted to take something home with them (perhaps, we’ll see the stickers show up in Savannah, GA). We would like to give a MASSIVE thank you to the STC volunteers, and everyone that came out to the tent to support us. Continue reading Monday Recap 10/8/18
