MONDAY RECAP: COMMUNITY UPDATE
Save The Crew Updates:
Project 2019, 10k:
LET’S PARTY LIKE IT’S 1996! Come out tonight for #SaveTheCrew Project 2019 Celebration! In celebration of Project 2019 hitting the significant milestone of 10,000 pledges, you are invited to join your fellow Save The Crew family and our guest of honor, former player Dante Washington, on Monday, August 6th, from 6pm to 8pm at Seventh Son Brewing‘s new rooftop space in Italian Village (1101 N. 4th St.). There is parking available in front of the brewery and on surrounding streets. No tickets are required but the venue does have limited capacity. We will raise a toast to the progress of Project 2019 and share updates on other initiatives that you won’t want to miss.
School supplies Drive:
The fall means more than playoffs for our team, it means Back 2 School! Join us at the Mega Tailgate on August, 11th for our school supplies drive, benefiting Livingston Elementary. Please donate supplies such as: pencils, crayons, glue sticks, backpacks, notebooks, and tissues. Let’s show the Columbus community what the #SaveTheCrew movement does.
Pelotonia 2018 is in the books! We want to give a major thank you to everyone and anyone who donated/ participated/ volunteered for this years event. Pelotonia is the time of year where we all work together to achieve the ultimate goal, finding a cure to cancer. The #stc members that participated in the event had an amazing time! We look forward on participating in Pelotonia for years to come!

Guillermo Barros Schelotto: “I like Columbus Crew in Ohio”:
Our beloved Guillermo is the current manager of Argentinian power house, Boca Juniors. Last month, his club participated in a pre-season tournament in the United States. During the course of media sessions, the topic of #SaveTheCrew came up. Guillermo was sympathetic to the situation, citing his successful stint in Columbus: “I feel sorry for the people in Columbus. I have a lot of memories from Columbus, Ohio. But the owner is the chief. But I like Columbus Crew in Ohio.” Who knows, maybe one day we will see Guillermo on the sidelines in Columbus.
Jonathan Dale Gofundme:
Please help contribute to Jon Dale’s fund to help pay medical bills. Jon selflessly protected his family/friends from a mob of Toronto FC fans. During the skirmish, Jon was seriously burned by a flare. He ended up spending 20 days in the hospital which included multiple skin grafts. The injury to his leg was serious enough that he has had to do extensive physical therapy as he essentially needed to learn to walk again. Since his release from the hospital, he was not able to work for 5 weeks because of the intense pain. He continues to do physical therapy. Any donation is helpful! Let’s help out a member of our Crew family in need.
The return of Justin Meram:
Our very own Lion of Mesopotamia returned home. Columbus Crew FC moved forward on the deal to bring the winger back from Orlando City. The deal sees the Crew profit more than 300k in target allocation money. Justin is fit, and ready to play as early as August 11th! Welcome back, J9!
See you August 11th, as we take on the Houston Dynamo @ Mapfre Stadium (7:30pm). Get your tickets!
Glory to Columbus
